About
I am a wife, Mother of four, published author and speaker. I live in Spokane Washington with my husband Alan, youngest daughter and two ridiculously naughty dogs. I did not grow up in the Church. After becoming a believer in my early twenties God’s word, the Church and helping people in the Church grow in their knowledge of the Bible became my all-consuming passion in life.

Greetings from a believer in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God of the Holy Bible. A sinner saved by grace.
I often do research on the bible online. When I come across information, before I spend time reading, I try to find out the author’s biblical beliefs. So I recommend having a statement of faith on your website. This of course may, or may not, put my mind at rest. Without it, I very well may not read it. If I do, I still cannot recommend a website not knowing what the author believes. My reasoning is, I do not want to cause another to stumble should there be false doctrine. In addition, I find knowing what church one attends is highly beneficial. An extreme example: a true biblical church or church of the damned (Please do not take this as if I think you attend an evil church as this is not my intention).. I hope you get my meaning and find this helpful.
May God bless you with wisdom, knowledge and understanding of His word and bless you with the ability to communicate His truths well. Thanks.
Hi Stanley, Thank you for your question. I am actually currently working on a statement of faith. A couple of people have requested one. At this point it’s just a matter finding the time to get it completed and on the website. I applaud your desire to stay true to what the Bible teaches. It’s a wonderful inclination. That said, I also feel the need to encourage you (and everyone else) to not just look at what people SAY they believe but also look at what they write and teach. A person can say they hold to biblical views and then teach some things that are very contrary to the Bible. My prayer for each of my readers is that they will have a working knowledge of Scripture and develop biblical discernment. I don’t know if you noticed but I nearly always cite at least one Bible verse for each doctrinal/biblical statement I make. I encourage you (and everyone else) to check those out. They will give you a lot of insight into what I believe and where I’m coming from. God bless you!
Excellent article Lisa. Thank you. I have several friends who have experienced this with children and grandchildren. This is spot on.
Thank you Sylvia, I ‘m glad you found it helpful!
